Project Details

Intended as a mobile-first application, the 'Gazetteer' can be used to search any country worldwide and retrieve information on that country, such as: general information, local holidays, current COVID data, travel information and breaking news. Users can also get up-to-date weather information by clicking anywhere on the map, change the texture of the map, and watch webcam streams in certain areas where this is available. The application makes use of Leaflet.js to show the world map, PHP and jQuery to retrieve country information from multiple APIs, and is styled using the Bootstrap framework.
